At Kifaroo.com, LLC (the Site), your privacy matters to us. Please read this Privacy Statement in its entirety so that you understand what information the website collects and how Kifaroo.com uses that information. This Privacy Statement applies only to information collected online through the Kifaroo.com website and does not describe the ways in which we may collect or use information obtained offline or through any means other than our website. Information Collected
Kifaroo.com utilizes several channels in which to collect information. These channels include mandatory information (required information provided by you, the user), voluntary information (at the user's discretion), and automatic data capture which is described below. We will collectively refer to all information obtained through the Site as "personal information."
You can visit the Website and access the information available on Kifaroo.com without entering any personal information. For legal and business purposes it is necessary for us to collect certain types of information to allow user access to certain information, services or features that may be available on the Site. This mandatory information includes personal information such as your name, e-mail address, zip code and phone number and other similar information that can be used to identify you. In addition, we may collect other mandatory information if you choose to register for an account on the Site, join our mailing list, subscribe to our newsletter, participate in special offers, sign up for our live chat, message boards or other public venues, send questions or comments to us via e-mail or opt "in" to any other service or communication the Site offers.
We may also collect certain demographic information (such as gender or age) and information about your interests and user preferences which may or may not be "voluntary information". In most instances, demographic and user preferences information is optional. If we ever use any demographic or preferences information combined together with any mandatory information, then such combined information will be treated as mandatory information under this Privacy Statement.
Please note that several of the services you can obtain through the Site are in fact provided by third-party service providers. These include but are not limited to: automotive history reports, insurance quotes, auto financing, and credit report services which are all provided by other companies, not Kifaroo.com. If you click on a link to obtain one of these services (or other services provided by third parties not expressly mentioned) you will be directed to their website and the information provided by you to obtain the service will be collected directly by the service provider, not by Kifaroo.com. Such information will be subject to the collecting Website's privacy policy and practices.
The Site may collect information about your visit to the Website, including what pages you view, the number of bytes transferred, the links you click, the materials you access, and other actions taken within the Website. This information is automatically captured by the Site and requires no additional user registration. We may also collect certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your Internet Protocol address, your browser type and capabilities and language, your operating system, the date and time you access the Website, and the website from which you linked to our Website. We do not link this information to your Personal Information. The Site uses this information to bring you the most relevant information given your interests, geography, and other user preferences.
Use of Collected Information
If you provide us with personal information, we may retain and use that information for several business and legal purposes, such as information gathering, lead and sales processing, marketing, legal compliance and similar uses. In addition, we may use mandatory information to ensure compliance with the Site's policies and applicable law.
KIFAROO.COM WILL NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS.
Information collected via the Site may be combined with information we collect by other means. We may also use your mandatory information to improve the Site, or to make the Site easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information or by customizing the Site to your particular location, preference or interests. Kifaroo.com reserves the rights to use information collected on the Site to enhance user performance, improve the Site, and for any other legal purposes. If at any time the Site is legally required to allow access to personal information as required by law, we will cooperate with authorities as necessary which may entail allowing access to protected personal information. If you have chosen to receive communications by e-mail from us but later wish to opt out of receiving such communications from us at any time, simply follow the instructions for doing so included in the emails. We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Site, such as service announcements or similar administrative or transactional messages, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out from receiving them.
Protecting Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children less than 13 year-of-age and we will not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to provide us any personally identifying information; if you are under 13, please do not provide any information about yourself on this Site. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will make immediate efforts to delete such information from our database in a timely manner.
Other Channels of Information Collection
Kifaroo.com will from time-to-time have additional methods for which we would like to collect information. These additional channels are completely voluntary and are not required to fully use the Site. These additional channels of data collection include online surveys, e-mail newsletters, sweepstakes and other promotions and dealer inquiry submissions. As previously stated, Kifaroo.com is not in the business to sell personal information and all data collected is for the sole use of the Site. Kifaroo.com will use any feedback and information to improve the Site.
Cookies & Page Tracking Tools
To personalize Kifaroo.com to the needs and interests of users, the Site may track the pages visited by users by placing a cookie (a small entry in text file, on your hard drive). The cookie allows the Site to track the pages you've visited. This data is aggregated with data on the pages visited by other users to track overall visitor traffic patterns. This information improves the Site by making it more responsive to the needs of users. Cookies do not reveal personal information about a user; the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. Cookies cannot read unrelated data off your hard drive and are not viruses or spyware. The help function on most web browsers contains information on how to set your browser to notify you before accepting a cookie or to disable cookies entirely. However, if you do not accept cookies, you will not be able to take advantage of various features on the Site that are available to other users.
In addition, the Site utilizes web beacons to record how many users are accessing particular pages and listings within the Site. Web beacons are small files located on pages and on some of the listings. In combination with cookies, these web beacons allow track the number of users who view particular pages and listings to fine tune the search results users receive. The use of cookies and web beacons is for the sole use of Kifaroo.com and the information collected will not be sold outright to third parties. This information is used to facilitate in the communication of buyers and sellers by notifying sellers of the volume of traffic of their postings as well as the demographics of the users viewing said postings.
Automated Browser Level Information
Our web server automatically collects limited information about your computer configuration when you visit the Site (including the type of browser software in use, the operating system, the resolution of your computer monitor, the website that referred you, and your IP address). Note: your IP address is a numerical address that is used by computers connected to the Internet to identify your computer so that data (such as the web pages you want to view) can be transmitted to you. We also use IP address information for systems administration and trouble shooting purposes. Your IP address does not tell us who you are. We use this information to make the Site as useful and automated as possible for our users. The IP address allows us to automatically populate the ZIP code and provide search results for vehicles in the user's geographic region.
Disclosure of Personal Information Collected
Except as described below, your personal information provided to the Site will not be shared outside of Kifaroo.com without your permission. Please note that once we disclose your personal information with dealers or sellers, they may contact you directly to discuss your request. Thereafter, your personal information in their possession will be subject to their privacy policies and practices, which may differ from ours.
Disclosures in conjunction with acquisitions or divestitures: Circumstances may arise where for strategic or other business reasons Kifaroo.com decides to sell, buy, merge or otherwise reorganize its own or other businesses. Such a transaction may involve the disclosure of personal and other information to prospective or actual purchasers, or receiving it from sellers. It is our practice to seek appropriate protection for information in these types of transactions. In the event that Kifaroo.com or all of its assets are acquired in such a transaction, user's personal information would be one of the transferred assets. Personal information may then become subject different privacy policies and practices.
Disclosure for legal purposes: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal requirements or with legal process served on us, to protect and defend our rights or property, or in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of any individual.
Services Offered by Outside Providers
To make our Site more valuable to our users, we may feature products and services that come from outside providers, entirely separate from the Kifaroo.com entity. Our finance, insurance, warranty, and inspection services, for example, are made available through cooperative arrangements with companies that specialize in providing such services. We make available to third parties such information as is necessary for them to provide the products or services. Of course, our site includes links to other websites, and provides access to products and services offered by third parties, whose privacy policies are not within our control. If accessing another website or purchasing products or services through our Site, use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting or the provider of such products or services. When you provide information in the course of obtaining products or services through our Site, use of any information you provide may be governed by the privacy policy of the provider of those products or services you obtain. The provider's privacy policy may differ from ours. If you cannot find the privacy policy of any of our provider partners via a link either from their site's homepage or from the pages on which the products or services are offered, you should contact the provider directly for more information prior to engaging in business transactions.
Security
Information we gather on our Site is stored within a controlled databases (or databases hosted on our behalf) on servers maintained in protected environments for the use of Kifaroo.com. Any credit card information you provide us is secured for transmission over the Internet using industry-standard secure sockets layer (SSL) encryption. However, no physical or electronic security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our servers or databases, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. Any information you include in a vehicle listing is available to anyone with Internet access.
If you register for an account on the Site, you will be asked to choose a password for your account, in which case, your online account information shall be protected by your password. We recommend that you do not disclose your password to any other person. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. You may cancel your account at any time. In doing so, all related vehicle postings will expire immediately. All personal information will be removed from the Site immediately; vehicle information and subsequent residual information, which may or may not contain personal information, will be retained via our Site's database. Changes to Kifaroo.com Privacy Statement
Kifaroo.com is an evolving medium. If we need to change our privacy statement at some point in the future, we'll post the changes to this Privacy Statement on this Site and update the reference to the effective date to reflect the date of the amendment. By visiting Kifaroo.com, you agree that your use of the Site, and any dispute over privacy, is governed by this Privacy Statement and our Service Agreement.
